Germany installed about 1.4 GW of new photovoltaic capacity in July, according to the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur). This marks an increase from 1,033 MW in June, and is consistent with the 1.4 GW added in July 2024.
From January to July 2025, new PV installations reached approximately 8.65 GW—slightly lower than the 9.34 GW deployed during the same period last year. Rooftop systems accounted for 628.7 MW of July’s additions, while ground-mounted projects contributed 581.9 MW, with the remainder coming from other system types.
Germany’s cumulative installed solar capacity has now surpassed 109 GW, highlighting the country’s continued momentum in renewable energy development.
